Living Life

That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked at and our hands have touched—this we proclaim concerning the Word of life.

1Jo 1:1

In order to get water from a well, there must first be water in that well. Also, in order to consume the water or share it with others, the water should be clear, not murky or contaminated.

When a well is being dug, the goal is not just to find water, but water that is clear and fit for human consumption.

So it is with the living water – the Word of life; the Word of God.

For us to live our lives accurately, we must have the Word to draw from as we walk day by day and make our decisions. If we are to council others, this is also true. It is possible for the Word in our lives to become tainted with the ideals of the Word.

To keep this from happening, we must constantly draw on God’s word – meditate on it daily. Without it, we may become lost or confused, not knowing how we are to proceed.

Having the pure Word serves to strengthen, nourish and refresh us and does the same for those with which we share it.

2 Tim 4:2
Preach the word; be prepared in season and out of season; correct, rebuke and encourage—with great patience and careful instruction

The Word also removes the impurities from our lives and builds us up.

Eph 5:26
to make her holy, cleansing her by the washing with water through the word,

Can we imagine our lives without the word of God?

It only takes a taste to start to change our perspectives and to alter the things that we do. Drink of it everyday and life takes on new shapes. We will continually grow and become more like Him.
